Polarn O.Pyret (meaning "Buddy and the little one" in Swedish) is a childrenswear brand designing practical and durable clothing. Recently they sent The Princess and The Pickle a couple of pieces to see what we think.
The Princess received a red gingham shirt with a trendy
peplum style frill. The size is 8-10
years and although it is very generous at the moment (she is almost 8), it
doesn’t look too big.It’s very
lightweight and cool for the Summer and she says it is extremely comfortable.
The Pickle received a 2 piece organic cotton pyjama set with red ¾ length
trousers and a stripy t-shirt.It
actually took me a little while to realise they are meant to be pyjamas as they
look very on trend and summery, and I confess he did potter around outside in them,
but I don’t think anyone would notice they were pyjamas!
The fabric is thicker than a lot of the kids clothing I’ve
seen and looks like it could withstand a fair bit of rough and tumble! It’s also the kind of fabric that doesn’t
crease (anything to get me out of ironing!)
The trousers are elasticated at the waist and have lots of
stretch in them, so I can see them lasting for a couple of years, unless The
Pickle has a huge growth spurt! The
fabric is so soft, even after half a dozen washes, it still feels as soft as
when it arrived.
I love bright, bold designs and that’s exactly what you’ll
find on the Polarn O. Pyret website - no pink or blue pastels in sight!
