Tommee Tippee have launched a new range of hygiene products which are gentle yet powerful. These products contain a UK-made ingredient called Byotrol, which kills 99.9% of bacteria by literally pulling the germs apart, instead of poisoning them with harsh chemicals like bleach and disinfectants do. Byotrol carries on working once the product has dried, continuing to kill germs by creating an invisible barrier on skin or surfaces.
The range includes Surface Spray, Steri-Fluid, Soother, Teat & Teether Wipes and Hand Serum. The serum and wipes are ideal for using when you’re out and about, especially at this time of year when you’re spending lots of time outside with the little ones.
I have sensitive skin, particularly on my hands, so I wasn’t sure what to expect from the hand serum, yet from the first use my hands felt soft and it did not irritate or dry out my skin like other hand cleansers do. My hands actually felt moisturised. It doesn’t contain alcohol, just like the rest of the range, and it has a pleasant soapy smell. There is also a travel sized version of this which you can pop in your changing bag or handbag. It’s ideal for cleaning your hands after changing baby’s nappy, or before preparing baby’s feed.
We have been enjoying some lovely walks in the sunshine this year and the hand serum is great for cleaning our hands when we stop to have a picnic, especially The Princess who always manages to get filthy when we’re outdoors!
The Steri-Fluid, for use with cold water sterilising units, is quick and easy to use and sterilises bottles, soothers and teethers within 15 minutes. Items will remain sterile in the solution for up to 24 hours, which is useful if you need to prepare a feed in the middle of the night.
The Soother, teat & teether wipes are great for cleaning things that fall (or are thrown!) on the floor. You can also use them to wipe baby’s toys, bowls and cutlery (pretty much anything apart from baby!) and there is no need to rinse afterwards. They also come in handy if you’re eating out, you can give the highchair tray a quick wipe just to make sure it’s really clean, and you can wipe down the surface before changing baby in a public baby changing room. The wipes are very moist so one wipe goes a long way. They don’t leave an unpleasant odour, and the pack is a perfect size to fit in a changing bag. Oh, and they are also 100% biodegradable, which makes me feel much better about using them!
The household Surface Spray will carry on working for up to 24 hours. As well as food preparation areas, this is also safe to use on baby’s highchair and plastic toys. Again, it does not leave a strong odour and it made my kitchen worktops look nice and shiny!
I have enjoyed testing these products and will continue to use the wipes and hand serum. I would definitely recommend them to anyone with babies or young children.
