A postcard from... The Comic Relief Danceathon 2015 at Wembley

We did it!  We completed six whole hours of dancing on Sunday at Comic Relief's epic Danceathon event!  My husband and kids were watching from the side and as I usually hog the camera, he was very pleased to get uninterrupted use of it for a whole afternoon!  Here are a selection of his photos from the day.

We found a spot on the dancefloor and Kevin Adams got us all moving with a great warm up (despite a few hiccups with the music!)

Just before going live to the BBC Red Button, there was time for the celebrities on stage to go a little gaga over Kimberley Wyatt and Max Rogers' cute 3 month old baby.  Doing a Danceathon while wearing a baby carrier.... wow!

...and for Rufus Hound to stretch those legs!

At 12pm, Chrissy Harper kicked off the Danceathon with a half hour 70's Disco session.  Yes, Alex Jones really did dance for 6 hours in heeled trainers... ouch!

Comedians Marcus Brigstocke and Rufus Hound got right into the swing of things...

The 2000 Danceathon participants had a great time doing the YMCA routine!

Richard Curtis enjoyed dancing along too!

Then at 12:30 it was time for Elliot Bodman to lead the Swag session.

With a little dance off from the celebrities, including Rachel Riley, showing off their moves!

Joanne Cooper led the super high energy 80's Anthems session at 1pm.  Loving those sparkly leggings, Gemma Cairney!

Followed by Musical Theatre at 1:30, led by David Olton, with Arlene Phillips, Adam Garcia and Kimberley Walsh joining in.

My favourite just had to be 90's Rave at 2pm, led by Zoe McNulty.  2000 people dancing to Prodigy and 'stacking shelves' made for quite an atmosphere!

2000 people dancing the Thriller routine was pretty amazing too!  Troy Dureh did a great job of leading the Michael Jackson Moves session at 2:30.

Next up was the Funk session at 3pm with Christina Andrea.

Just when we thought we were all running a little low on energy, AJ O'Neill strutted on to the stage at 3:30 for a truly fabulous Diva session!

Another favourite was Bashment at 4pm, led by Joelle Fontaine.  With tracks such as Mr Bombastic, this proved to be a very popular style with the crowd!

When Joelle had a few issues with the microphone, there was no need to panic as Rufus Hound took over and got the whole arena following his awesome moves!

At 4:30, Zoe Jackson took the lead for the Pop session, with 2000 of us dancing along to tracks such as Gangnam Style!

Then the moment came when Mummy Barrow bared all to show Claudia her red nose tattoo!

There was certainly no slowing down for the final hour, starting with a Strictly style workout led by Natalie Lowe and Ian Waite.

Somehow, Chico was still full of energy at this point and seemed to be loving every minute of it!

Finally, Natalie Hope led a Sixties Soul session, complete with a live performance from the stars of The Commitments west end musical.

By the end of the afternoon we'd all danced over 35,000 steps - that's over 15 miles of dancing!  We've raised over £500 as part of Team Honk (with a team total of over £30,000!!) and there's still time to add to that total here - http://my.rednoseday.com/sponsor/helenkate - it would make today's aches and pains even more worth it!
